Foodies

Ahoy!!

Guess who has a week off work? Expect lots of posts coming atcha! Today I bring you a new outfit post. This is from a few weeks ago. I won tickets to the Foodies Festival at Battersea Park. It was quite literally food, glorious food! There was everything on offer, from freshly made sushi, to homemade retro sweets, and even some Kangaroo burgers! My friend that I went with had a really good camera which shows so much more detail, so I've been inspired to buy my own good camera (I say good, I just mean better than the one I have now). Here's what I wore.

The sunglasses and tan shirt are both from Primark. My jumper is vintage equestrian which I bought from eBay. I absolutely love the colour. I've paired it with this tribal body con skirt from Forever 21. The brown boots are vintage Bally and are so perfect!

The finishing touch is my Peace necklace by Tiffany & Co. It was bought for my 21st birthday by my Cousin/Godmother Susie. I practically wear it everyday!

Mmmmm, this sushi was amazing! I also had a really refreshing apple and raspberry mojito and we bought a bag full of yummy luxurious chocolate (Dark chocolate with lemon meringue pieces!).

Check back tomorrow for the best buys from Monsoon, just in time for their Rewards Event this Thursday!! Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Style Steal - Alesha Dixon in china blue.

Alesha Dixon attended the launch today for the new series of Britain's Got Talent sporting this beaut of an outfit.
I was straight onto Alesha on Twitter to find out exactly where today's get up was from. It is Roberto Cavalli. Initially I thought this was a dress, but after a bit of research found that it is in fact a shirt and skirt combo. There is also a gorgeous blazer and floaty maxi skirt to match too!
This set would cost you almost £2,000! Fortunately for you, I've scoured the internet for cheaper alternatives.
Matalan have some great China blue pieces. I particularly love those knickers at a bargain price of £2.50!
A little bit higher up the price range is Topshop with these detailed delights. I'm all a-flutter over that dress.
And finally, my online fashion site of the moment, Romwe.com. That first blouse is what first attracted me to do this blog post on Alesha. It's sat in my wish list just waiting for my next paycheck to arrive.

To end today's update, how about enjoying this vintage gem from T'pau!

Ukulele in the Park

2 days in a row? I really am back! This outfit is from a few weeks ago when the weather was still nice in London. I decided to take my ukulele over to a little park just behind our house.
I bought my ukulele just over a year ago. It's called Sir Paul as I actually met the legend himself the day I bought it. It's so weird because at the Queen's Jubilee Sir Paul McCartney was actually playing a union jack guitar!! I can play a few songs but not quite ready to become a performer just yet, but maybe one day you might find a video or 2 of me on Youtube. Anyway, back to the outfit. The cream lace cardigan I got from Forever 21. It's perfect for those cooler summer days as its really light to wear. I bought the grey skirt from eBay. I always feel so much more ladylike and elegant in a longer skirt. I have so many pair's of sunglasses but these are my favourite. I got them last year from New Look in the sale.

Don't forget to check out all the lovely stuff I'm selling on eBay. I'll be back tomorrow with a Paris outfit!!
Thanks for reading/following and your comments <3

A Peek into my Wardrobe

Hello everyone! This post is just going to be an update of the recent looks I've posted onto LookBook and Chictopia.
First up is this outfit I wore the day I got to ride on the little ferry on the River Thames.

This was before the rain came to ruin our English Spring. The trousers are Primark and are so light and perfect for spring/summer. My shoes are vintage which I bought from Camden Market almost 2 years ago. A lot of my wardrobe is navy and nautical so these shoes go perfectly with almost everything I own!

This second outfit is what I wore for my lunch date with my two lovely Irish friends, Luke and Jenny.

I am very proud of managing to nab this bag for £1! Its from StylistPick, a website which specialises in shoes and handbags and create individual showrooms based on what you like. They were celebrating reaching 100,000 likes on facebook by offering the first 100 people an item for £1. So I quickly scoured the site and found this beautiful flower print bag. It has a detachable strap and features faux snake skin.

My third outfit is what I wore to the V&A Museum, which everyone should visit as its oh so beautiful!

The checked pleated skirt I got from a clothes swap at one of my friends house. Clothes swapping is great and lots of fun. Keep an eye on my blog for a future big clothes swap happening in Hoxton very very soon!

Coming in at number 4 is this ensemble I wore for Judy's Vintage Affordable Fair at Spitalfields a few weekends ago.

The navy and cream lace dress I got from EBay for an absolutely steal price of just 99p! I adore this dress as its so easy to wear and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The navy and green checked blazer I bought from a Salvation Army charity shop just off Regents Street. It's becoming one of my favourite shops as they have loads of vintage 60s dresses. I took another trip there recently so keep an eye on my blog for a very special dress soon. Now lets talk about the boots. These are still my absolute favourite, from Topshop in a rich navy blue velvet. They're so easy to just slip on and spice up any outfit.

And lastly, this is what I wore Easter Sunday for my cousins beer festival, they're called Brodie's Beers and with loads of different flavours, you're sure to find something you'll love!

Here I am showing the family support with my Brodie's tee. The skirt I bought years ago from a little boutique in Donegal, Ireland. I used the belt from the skirt as a bow in my hair. The navy cardigan with a lace collar is what I bought from Judy's Vintage fair the day before. The wonderful hat I am wearing actually belongs to the woman behind me in the photo. I thinks she made it herself. Its just beautiful!

So that's all the catching up done. I 'll be back either later tonight or tomorrow with a new post. Also a big thank you to everyone who voted/favourited my look for the Spring Bloom contest on Chictopia. Unfortunately I didn't win, but it's the taking part that counts =]

Thanks for reading/following/supporting <3

A day by the river

Last week I spent the day with my brother hanging out by the Thames and going on a general walkabout of central London. I decided to wear what is becoming my new favourite outfit. I love when you find pieces from different shops that fit together so perfectly!

The yellow skirt is from Forever 21, the top is by Henry Holland for Debenhams and the yellow brogues were £6 from Primark. I've finished the look with my anchor tights from New Look. They're really good quality as I still haven't managed to rip them yet, which is what usually happens to my patterned tights.

We also bumped into some funny looking characters by the river...

I have also entered this outfit into the Spring Bloom Contest at Chictopia and would love it if you could vote for me please. Thanks

Square 1 with Bruno Pronsato - A W E S O M E

Last week, Me and some friends went to a secret club night where DJ Bruno Pronsato was playing. It was all very secretive with the venue only being told the day before. It was inside a dingy little basement gallery where there wasn't even a name on the door. It's not usually my type of music but was a great night out. Here's what I wore:

I think my crop top says it all really. I got it in a little clothes boutique in Stratford and features a word that comes out of my mouth way too often. The ruffled body con skirt is from Forever 21, in that lovely berry colour which was seen in my last update. My black Chelsea boots I bought from eBay for around £7 a few years ago and I could easily live in them. They're really comfortable and go with anything! I hope to be back tomorrow with another new look!

Style Steal - New Girl Episode 1: Pilot

So Zooey Deschanel's new show New Girl has finally hit the UK and if you're anything like me and my friends, you are already HOOKED! Zooey is a little bit of an idol to me. One thing I really love about her is her style and this always seems to come across in the characters she plays in films/tv shows. Use this blog each week as a helping hand in stealing her style.

The first outfit we see from Zooey's character Jess is this red and white Anthropologie dress. Unfortunately it is no longer available, but I have found some alternatives.

The first is a Ponte Tiered dress from New Look available in the sale down from £37.99 now at £26. Next is this red leaf print Cami dress from Dorothy Perkins, again available in the sales down from £27 to now £14. Thirdly is this lovely Ottoman Bustier dress from Warehouse in the sale with a whopping £50 off now available for just £20!! Finally is this super cute Object of Confection dress which can be found at Modcloth currently in the sale with 30% off.

Next, we see Jess watching Dirty Dancing and cry on the sofa BUT still in a cute and comfy style.

A checked shirt is a key piece for every wardrobe and can be found in most shops in various colours and for affordable prices. Check out this older blog post all about the different ways to wear a checked shirt.

And finally, here's one last adorable ensemble.

I love this look. The berry colours are very in right now too.

I actually have the H&M blazer which I wear quite a lot. The material is kind of jersey but a bit thicker, so it's really easy to wear. There are also suede elbow pads which are really cute. Hope you all enjoyed this post. Visit again next week for Episode 2: Kryptonite.

I (Heart) Henry Holland

Fans of Henry Holland should get themselves over to Debenhams website where his stuff is all on sale. I absolutely love his stuff. Its just so simple to wear and his pieces feature some fun patterns. Here's a few of my favourite items.
Why not get ready for spring with the Daisy print cardigan. I would also snap up that Bronze Metallic Maxi Skirt (only £7.20!) as judging by Balenciaga's runway show for Autumn/Winter at Paris Fashion Week, metallic fabrics are going to be big news!

Serena vs Blair

I have been catching up on recent episodes of Gossip Girl and like every other episode I've ever watched, I've fallen in love with the outfits. But its got me wondering - who do you all prefer? Serena or Blair? I myself am more of a Blair girl.
Serena
Serena definitely loves to flaunt what shes got with extra short shorts/hemlines and very low v-necks. She also has a lot of fun with bold patterns and quirky accessories.

Blair
Blair tends to keep her colours simple and her hemlines are usually longer than Serena's. She has such a classic ladylike look. I would definitely pick Blair's wardrobe over Serena's - but who would you pick?

Daks - London Fashion Week

The first runway show of day 2 of LFW was Daks. Their stuff looks like proper winter clothes with comfy jumpers and country checks. Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the collection.
I can't work out whether this is a navy satin dress or a separate top with skirt layered with a jumper - either way, I love it! The little gold band around the waist helps to prevent this look from being to frumpy and plain.
Another skirt, shirt and jumper combo here. This skirt slightly longer than the last and very much thicker. The jumper has a wider neck so when teamed with the buttoned up checked shirt, it has a mod feel to it. Again, the tight waistband makes it more fitting but this time the jumper has been tucked into the skirt.
The delicate patterning on this jumper helps add a feminine touch when combined with the slightly masculine buttoned up shirt. Also the slightly flared checked trousers are very farmers wife in the 70s.

Overall, this collection looks comfortable and easy to wear and would definitely keep you warm through the winter nights. A great start to day 2!!

Bye-Bye Leather Skirt?

So last week a brought a really cute high-waisted leather skirt from H&M. I had just seen Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, a great little 50's inspired rock 'n' roll band, then stumbled upon this biker chick piece. After trying it on and admiring my reflection in the mirror, I convinced myself I could pull this off, anytime, anywhere. However I have now come to my senses and have decided to take this precious item back to the store. For £19.99, I don't feel it would get enough use from me.
I could be persuaded to keep it and wear it as much as possible if I receive enough positive feedback. So please let me know what you think - Keep it or take it back?
