London Fashion Week Day 1 - Outfit of the Day

So it finally happened, I finally went to London Fashion Week! My beautiful blogging bestie Angelica (AKA One Little Vice) won tickets to the Felder Felder show from the fabulous Nail Berry, and lucky me got to be her +1! After years of dreaming about going to LFW, you'd think I'd have an outfit all planned...nope, apparently not! I knew it had to be something vintage and as the 70's is looking to make a comeback this S/S (proved by Felder Felder at the last LFW), I wanted to pay homage to the psychedelic era. Having decided on a dress, I was faced with yet more decisions - black or colourful tights? heels or flats? boots or brogues? hair up or down? and what coat?! One by one I figured out the answers and here is my finished look!

This wonderfully tropical gem of a dress I found in Absolute Vintage.  I was almost tempted to wear yellow tights and navy blue velvet boots. Next time. For this outfit I've gone with navy tights and my favourite yellow Primark brogues. My vintage navy fedora hat finished off the look perfectly. It's a little battered, but that just shows how well worn and over loved it was by the past owner :)

Now, back to the babe of a dress. High neck, long sleeves, tie back waist - what's not to love?! Just look at those colours too. It's a colour clashing girls dream.

So off I went to meet Angelica in Covent Garden to pick up our tickets and take a seat at our first London Fashion Week show. I was beyond excited! Turns out someone stole our seats, but it was fine as we found a place to stand and actually had a better view of the catwalk, so *blows raspberry* screw you seat stealers! After the show, which was over way too quickly for my liking, we had a wander over to Southbank. Walking through London during Fashion Week, you can spot fellow attendees a mile off. London is a stylish city any other time of the year, but throughout those 2 weeks a year, it is even more so.

After stuffing our faces at Wahaca (make sure you order their sweet potatoes), we parted ways back to our own homes to get changed into something a bit more comfortable as that evening we were off to the Brixton Academy to see the hugely talented George Ezra!

So there you have it, my first (and hopefully not last) mini experience at London Fashion Week! A massive thanks to Nail Berry for inviting Angelica and an even bigger thank you to Angelica for bringing me along :)

London Fashion Week SS15 Day 4

Only 2 more days left for me to catch up on, so lets crack on with day 4!!

Antonio Berardi

This beautifully elegant collection features a divine mix of soft satin's and floaty chiffons. I particularly like the red asymmetric colouring on the ivory suit.

Mother of Pearl

Such simple cuts but with added embellishments. The blue piping along the hem of that floral checked mini skirt is so very cute.

Roksanda

Vibrant prints with folds of block colour. The black and navy colour combo making an appearance again!

Erdem

Action Man meets Little House on the Prairie with long country dresses in dark forest prints, including one in a feathery camouflage.

Michael van der Ham

This is such a perfect collection, I loved every single piece, it was really hard just picking a few to put up. Layered textures in a variety of patterns nicely combined together without looking too 'all over the shop'. The double patterned long jackets might just be my favourites.

Burberry Prorsum

Ombré chiffon and funked up denim jackets. The tulle tie waists are a nice different touch.

Christopher Kane

Silky satins in sultry tones. I wish I could go back to prom and wear that blue full skirted slightly peplum dress.

Huishan Zhang

More pretty prom style dresses with great little twists - like the twist in the waist line, or the double collars. The washed out colours are fresh and Spring ready.

Peter Pilotto

Fun futuristic prints in bright bolds and shiny metallics. I'm sure we'll be seeing a few of these around when festival fever strikes.

Giles

Cape dresses in light fabrics and pixelated tiger prints. I adore the striped suit in a unique colour combination of cream and dusty pink and matching shoes!

Tom Ford

Glam rockers at the office. The tight trousers with big bell bottoms give a super slim silhouette. The shimmering outfits show they're ready to party once business has been dealt with.

London Fashion Week SS15 Day 3 Highlights

So I've fallen a bit behind with my Fashion Week posts. Here are my favourites from day 3!

Preen by Thonrton Bregazzi

Stripes!! This makes me very happy indeed. I'm loving the nautical and tribal mix with a slight sporty vibe. A great twist on the cricket jumper.

Margaret Howell

Simple and chic, with a hint of masculinity. Perfect for those 'dress down Fridays'. Look cool with very little effort.

Richard Nicoll

Light draped fabrics and even a light up dress. It'll come as no surprise that this Spring/Summer show was sponsored by Disney's Tinkerbell!

Marios Schwab

The diagonal cuts to the hemlines add something a little different to the shift dresses and mini skirts. I really like the mix of the tough tribal prints layered with the delicate chiffon.

Matthew Williamson

We've already seen a collection inspired by the psychedelic 70's, but Matthew is showing us another side to the decade's fashion with the wide leg trousers and deep v-necks just screaming disco glamour. He's kept to his signature purple hues and bold prints.

Temperley London

Yet more tribal but this time in pretty pastels. The checked waistcoat is very Annie Hall, and we all know how cool she is!

Topshop Unique

Oh I am very much looking forward to next Spring/Summer what with all these stripes (not that my wardrobe is currently lacking in any...). These pieces have a slightly tighter fit than Preen's, but fabulous nonetheless.

Mary Katrantzou

The Queen of pattern clashing has brought us a collection of mixed textures, with chiffon, sequins, embellishments and embroidery. Inspired by Earth itself, she has balanced it's elements perfectly in the form of these beautifully decorated dress.

Pringle of Scotland

Light knits layered with shimmering tones in easy to wear shapes. Timeless pieces that can be mixed and matched for years to come.

London Fashion Week SS15 Day 2 Highlights

Morning!

Day 2 was very exciting for me as 2 of my absolute favourite designers showcased their take on SS15; Orla Kiely and House of Holland. Here are a few of my other favourites from the day.

Barbara Casasola

Barbara has kept it sleek and simple in metallics and pleats.

Orla Kiely

Orla is back with pretty flower prints and perfect pastel colours. This collection has a definite sixties feel to it, much like Paul Costelloe, but these are more of the housewife side with the longer hemlines and looser cuts.

Emilia Wickstead

Neat shapes and delicate stripes on smooth satin. I particularly love the orange swimsuit, another sixties inspired item.

Antipodium

This is very grunge meets mod with the loose shapes and pointed collars. I love the odd colour match of lime green and dusty pink.

Julien Macdonald

Designs made to show off curves or in this case give the illusion there are some. The patterns are exquisite in such elegant silhouettes. Who doesn't love a ruffled swimsuit?!

Markus Lupfer

The Hawaiian backdrop was perfect for these bright colours. Yet more sixties influence with the standout front zips.

Sibling

I do love a bow, the bigger the better in my opinion. We're greeted with more monochrome and filly shapes. I saw someone on Twitter describe that last shot as a toilet roll doll, they got it pretty spot on!

Holly Fulton

Mad Men may have finished for good (boo!) but the sixties are definitely still swinging in the fashion world. I love the mix of bold monochrome straight edged patterns with the charmingly graceful flowers.

J.W.Anderson

A strong nautical touch here with the white piping and button details.

House of Holland

I always get so excited to see what Henry has to offer and he never disappoints, until now...I KID! I totally LOVE this collection!! Inspired by groupies from the psychedelic 70's, there were coloured suedes, clashing bright florals and fringing. I really like the darker tones, something a bit different for spring/summer from the usual pastels. Congrats Henry, you've brought the fun to Fashion Week yet again!

Marchesa

Like Bora Aksu from Day 1, this collection has a firm gypsy influence with the heavy flower detailing and ruffled lace.
