Ships Ahoy - Outfit of the Day

Happy LFW Eve!! I am too excited for London Fashion Week, and I'm not even going!* But I have booked the week off work so I can spend all day looking at the photos and hopefully get some blog posts done for you lovely lot.

Before that though, a quick new outfit post :) You probably all remember my love for Bonne Chance Collections and their super cute and girly dresses (need reminding? Check here and here!). Now seemed the right time to continue my little love affair with the brand, and so I purchased my 4th, and not likely to be final, dress. Those of you following me on Instagram would've seen a sneaky peek a few weeks ago. This one is pretty exciting as it is so me!!

I always get so excited to open a package from Bonne Chance Collections as they wrap them so beautifully and include a handwritten thank you card inside too. Just look at nautical print. Can't you just hear it scream 'AHOY CAPTAIN CHARGHLEY!!'. It's as though it was made for me; boats - check, anchors - check, Peter Pan collar - check, bow tie - check. How could I resist!

So, here's how I wore the dress.

Bonne Chance's dresses are always such a perfect fit for me, maybe a wee bit short, but I practically live in tights. I've already eyed up a few more of their designs I think deserve a new home in my wardrobe (I'm sure I can find a little space...). If you too find you can't quite resist the urge, then be sure to use the code PASTEL to get 20% off - you're welcome!!
My navy knitted hat was a Birthday present from my Aunty and Uncle. It came as part of a set with gloves and a thick woolly scarf. They have all seen me through this winter. The white fluffy cardigan I got from a Swapaholics clothes swap. It's so lovely, soft and warm, but it does like to leave white fluff everywhere!

Now for the shoes!

These beauts I picked up from Absolute Vintage for a bargain price of £18! They fit like a glove, but for your foot... I've been wanting a pair of cute navy slip on shoes, and I do love Bally, so these seemed pretty much foolproof. That was until I wore them out whilst gallivanting around the streets of Covent Garden. Silly me forgot to check the heel on them. After slipping and nearly falling flat on me arse, I had to walk a little carefully. I took them to be repaired by the shoe guardian angels, AKA Timpsons - hey presto, good as new!

I took the dress out for it's first spin the other week when I went to a friends flat to help start up a new Youtube Channel. Ask Honest Girls - keep a lookout as it'll be launching soon!! I managed to gather up a few girl friends of mine to take part in this new Youtube project.

After we had finished shooting. I headed to Covent Garden Hotel for a quick hot chocolate before meeting my friend Jess for a wee catch-up and wander around Soho. If you ever see anyone wearing layers of coats, it's probably just my photographer for the day...sorry Jess!

Once darkness had descended, I headed over to the Britannia pub near London Bridge for some games and beer with friends. This pub had the biggest selection of whiskey I had ever seen! They played some fab music (hello Bowie!) and the food was pretty scrumptious too! And get this, their bar tabs are old cassette tapes!

I got the chance to wear my nautical dress again for pancake day this Tuesday. I spent the evening having pancake toss-offs with my housemate Chloe, brother Joff and ex-housemate Luke. There was also a lot of time spent trying to decide just what to put on my pancake. I went for a combination of chocolate biscuit spread, Lotus Biscoff spread and peanutbutter, all smothered in butterscotch flavoured Brittains vodka - delish!!

What did everyone else chose to top their pancakes?

Don't be shy, come and say hi :)

*at the time of writing I wasn't going to LFW, but then Angelica at One Little Vice won us tickets to Felder Felder's show, so watch this space!!

Fleetwood Harbour

Just a quick post tonight! This is from day 2 up North with the family. We visited Fleetwood Harbour where they have loads of factory outlet shops. This meant one thing - BARGAINS!! I managed to grab a bag of 10 Creme Eggs for £2!! I wasn't quite prepared for the sunshine that day so I look slightly like an out of place goth...

It's navy and black again!! My navy cable knit jumper is from H&M. I love it so much I've got it in grey and brown too! My high waisted jeans are from New Look, as are my boots (£8 in the sale, hurrah!) and my monochrome bag.

I always feel so relaxed and peaceful around boats. Yeah, I'm weird...

I've taught my brother well with posing for photos. Be sure to like me Facebook Page for sneaky peeks of upcoming posts and competitions. I'm also on Instagram too!

Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon with polka dots on Blackpool beach!

Fade To Grey

Just popping by with a quick outfit post. Anyone who knows me, will tell you how much I love Winter; hot chocolate in bed, the sound of rain against the windows, Christmas (don't even get me started on Christmas!!). My main love of Winter is the fashion; comfy jumpers, leather boots, knitted tights, long socks, hats, coats, layers, the colours! I could go on. As the days get shorter and the nights colder, I suddenly come alive. Here's today's outfit.

I bought this dress in Ireland a year or 2 ago. The top is so soft and thick, perfect for winter. The bottom is a chiffon layer atop cotton, with a lace hemline. The crocheted waist makes it so cute. My buckled shoes are from New Look and are also available in brown.

My Mum bought me these tights a few years ago. They have such a unique and interesting texture, they're always fun to wear. You can see the pretty lace detail of my dress too. Very vintage.

This cameo necklace was another of my Great Grandmothers and it gets a lot of interest from my friends and work colleagues.

There is a constant feeling of Winter and Christmas in my room with my snowflake fairy lights which I bought from Ikea a few years ago (put they still sell HERE!). They're so long, they cover over half of my room! It makes me feel all snuggly and romantic when I sit and type with them on every night.

Yesterday I went to an Orla Kiely sample sale in London. I've never been to a sample sale before and just kept imagining that scene from Confessions of a Shopaholic, it was nothing like that. I ended up buying 2 skirts; one that I can wear to work and one I can wear to party in. Keep a look out over the next week for their feature on the blog. The Orla Kiely Sample sale is still on, 11am-7pm until Saturday 26th October 2013. You can find it at 2 Percy Street, just off Tottenham Court Road. There is a £1 donation entry fee, but it is totally worth it! Now I must resist the urge to go back...

Don't Call Me Ska Face

Happy Friday people!

 Another day, another look.

Guess who got new shoes!! They're from Necessary Clothing and were on a special 'Markdown Monday' deal. Here's what I styled them with:

My jeans are from Topshop, the Jamie style. I like them because they're higher waisted than normal jeans. The monochrome shirt is from Forever 21.

You're all probably out partying. Me, I'm having a night in with sushi and wine with some of my housemates, I've got work super early tomorrow morning, so can't go too crazy tonight.

Don't forget to vote for my photo as part of Oasap's Autumn Fashion Look Contest HERE! Thanks for reading, liking, commenting, following, sharing and everything else you can do with a blog! I'll hopefully be back tomorrow, if not, maybe Sunday!!

Anchored by the Thames

Ahoy!! I hope you all enjoyed yesterdays post featuring Frances O'Leary's new collection. I'm trying to make more of an effort with updating this blog more, so today I bring you a new outfit post.

This was quite a casual ensemble for me. The anchor tee is from Urban Outfitters and is quite possibly the comfiest top ever! I've teamed it with cherry red skinny jeans from Primark, a navy denim jacket from Uniqlo and not forgetting my favourite navy vintage nurse shoes. My bag is from Forever 21 and I can almost fit the kitchen sink in it.

Southbank is probably my favourite area of London. I just love being by the river - I'm a pirate at heart, happiest by the sea (or rivers/lakes/puddles!).

Until next time....

A day by the river

Last week I spent the day with my brother hanging out by the Thames and going on a general walkabout of central London. I decided to wear what is becoming my new favourite outfit. I love when you find pieces from different shops that fit together so perfectly!

The yellow skirt is from Forever 21, the top is by Henry Holland for Debenhams and the yellow brogues were £6 from Primark. I've finished the look with my anchor tights from New Look. They're really good quality as I still haven't managed to rip them yet, which is what usually happens to my patterned tights.

We also bumped into some funny looking characters by the river...

I have also entered this outfit into the Spring Bloom Contest at Chictopia and would love it if you could vote for me please. Thanks
