Dressgal Review

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Dressgal. They wanted to send me some items, of my choice, from their site for me to feature on the blog. I was given a $25 allowance, which also had to cover the postage costs from China to the UK. I managed to get myself 2 dresses and a t-shirt for a grand total of $24.96. This included a shipping fee of $6.41, plus a discount of $0.59. This discount is part of the $200 coupon that is added to your account when you sign up. You can use this as 15% off each of your orders, so that’s a lot of discounted orders!!

Right, so, what did I order?

First up is this Charlie Chaplin inspired top. Who doesn’t love Charlie, eh? This top comes in one size, but it’s baggy, so perfect for a comfortable look. I’d say it would fit up to a size 14 depending on the type of fit you like. I’ve got it tucked into my skirt here, but you can see that it is long enough for me to fold it over the waistband. This top also comes in a variety of other designs and costs just $3.91!

Next up is this arty face dress, it’s very Picasso, doncha think? I’m wearing a size L as they’re Asian sizes which I know tend to come up very small. It’s a little on the short side, but with a pair of shorts/leggings underneath, I feel quite comfortable wearing it out and about. It says the material is chiffon, but it’s a bit thicker than your usual chiffon. It does up with a side zip and also comes in black. It’s currently at a bargain price of $6.73 on the site, but even at the usual price of $11.22, it’s still very cheap!

Finally is this pretty pink dress. Again, I ordered a size L. This one is slightly longer than the previous dress, but still not quite long enough for me to feel comfortable wearing without shorts/leggings underneath. The material of this dress IS chiffon, and it’s lovely and light, perfect for summer. I can also see this getting a lot of wear in the winter, worn as a sort of pinafore over long sleeved tops with woolly tights. I really love the spaghetti straps and open back. It fastens with a little zip at the back. This dress costs just $12.14 but looks and feels like it should be more!

So there we have it. My first review for Dressgal. Although I was sent these items free of charge, all views are my own, and rest assured, they are honest J If you’re looking for cheap, but pretty clothes, then I highly recommend Dressgal. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again!

Paris Part 4 - River Boat Tour & Cimetiétre du Pére-Lachaise

Evening folks!!

I've been a bit quiet on the blogging front as I was in Cyprus the week before last for my best friends wedding (outfit post to come very soon, sneak peeks over on Instagram!) and spent this Bank Holiday Weekend editing the last of my Paris photos. Yeah, I know, it was almost 2 months ago, but I took A LOT of photos! So, not to leave you waiting much longer, here is the 4th and final part of my trip to Paris. Our second-to-last day was my Nan's actual birthday, so what better way to celebrate than tea at Ladurée!!

I went for a mini caramel tart whilst my Nan had the lemon version and my Aunty the raspberry. Of course we popped into the shop next door so I could treat myself to a box of macaroons. I just wanted to try everything, although most of it looked far too good to even eat!!

Enough about sweet treats, how about my outfit?

Dress - Pop Boutique // Cardigan - UniQlo // Shoes - Matalan

 

I feel very Moonrise Kingdom in this mustard number from Pop Boutique. You may remember me winning some vinyl vouchers to spend in their stores late last year. This was one of the first items I bought with them. I also went on a bit of a spending spree just before my holiday to Cyprus, so keep your eyes peeled for more of my purchases. It was still a little chilly, so grey knitted tights and this woolly UniQlo cardigan were the perfect match. I wore my white brogues from Matalan to go with the white collar and sleeve cuffs (which I stupidly forgot to show off!) of the dress.

Right, back to Paris! We had a little bit of time before our river tour for a wander around (and another créme brulée). Or original plan for the day had been to visit the  Louvre, but silly me got the days mixed up and it was closed, but we still went to see the beautiful building.

We could already feel the wind from the Parisian streets, but from the boat it was notched up to 10! I was pretty glad I'd tied my hair up that day. We got to see a lot of the same bits of Paris that we had seen on the tour bus, but this was from a slightly different angle, and hello, we were on a boat!! There was also a lovely tour guide telling us sweet little stories about the monuments, including one featuring one of the bridges where lovers close their eyes, make a wish and kiss as they travel underneath it.

I could stare at Parisian buildings forever. I just love the architecture of this romantic city.

Remember the jigsaw we were doing back at our apartment? Well turns out it had a piece missing *LE CRY* so we consoled ourselves with some fine dining and wine in Bastille (and more créme brulée!)

The next morning we rose early to make the most of the half day we had left before we had to catch our Eurostar back to London. We found out we weren't too far from Cimetiére du Pére-Lachaise, the largest cemetery in Paris. There are quite a few well known names buried there. This place is so big it becomes a bit of a fun game (in a cemetery?!) to try and find these graves hidden within the 110 acre site. Some of them aren't how you would expect them to look. Some graves are so big, almost like houses!

We had just about enough time for some grub (and a final créme brulée - I may have a problem...) before we had to rush back to the apartment to pick up our cases and hop on a train back home.

I had the most amazing week and cannot wait to go back (I'm definitely gong back, there's plenty more créme brulée for me to try!). I will never tire of this beautiful city.
