The Wellcome Collection Outfit of the Day (OOTD)

Happy Valentines Day!!

This post has nowt to do with it - sorry! Last weekend I met up with my cousin for a wee catchup. After some food we decided to give The Wellcome Collection in Euston a quick little visit before we both had to scoot off. This place is described as 'The free destination for the incurably curious', and that it is! If you're into science and medicine, then you'll love this place.

First thing is first, before I start rabbiting on - here's what I wore!

It's cold so there are lots of layers for this one. The checked black & white chiffon shirt is a sale purchase from Forever 21 a few years ago. I wear it mainly to layer underneath jumpers as I love the black collar. The knitted jumper was a wardrobe steal from my Nan. When I say I dress like a granny, I'm not lying (though my Nan is a proper babe!). This soft knit is from M&S's Limited Edition collection. To stop me stealing her clothes, my Nan bought me the grey tartan checked blazer for Christmas. It's from Peacocks and I've recently seen it in-store in the sale, so if you're lucky you might just find it too! My grey skin jeans are from Primark, which is one of my go-to places for jeans as they seem to have the best fit for me and don't lose their stretch throughout the day.

Now for what I was most excited to wear...

I had been lusting over these boots from Kurt Geiger for the past 2 years, and they finally were introduced into the sale! Kurt Geiger always have a fantastic sale (30% off boots at the moment!). These are called Brisa and from the Miss KG range. I've been needing some flat black ankle boots for a while, and these caught my eye with the buckle detail and gold plate around the heel. They're still in the sale for just £49!

Right, that's the outfit out of the way. Now back to The Wellcome Collection.

We only had around 20 minutes to check this place out, but there was definitely plenty to see! I love museums/galleries/centres where I can touch and play with things, so The Wellcome Collection did not disappoint. There are buttons to press, clothes to try on (a straight jacket counts, right?), a space to get creative and doodle, phones to listen to medical explanations, and even some staff members walking around showing you demonstrations (shrunken head anyone?). What I loved most about The Wellcome Collection, was the newly refurbished Reading Room. This isn't just a library, it's also part exhibition gallery and space for events (which they have aplenty!). I have a week booked off for the upcoming London Fashion Week, chilling on a bean bag on the finally reconstructed red carpeted staircase seems like the perfect place for some blog writing!

For those of you that can't get to The Wellcome Collection, they have an online exhibition, Mindcraft, which can be explored from the comfort of your own home, or even whilst out and about from a tablet. I can't wait to go back and explore this treasure trove even more!

Thanks for reading. Wishing you all a Happy Valentines Day!
