Favourite Looks from the BAFTAs 2015

Tonight was a big night for awards season with a double whammy, starting with The BAFTA's in London, followed by The Grammy's in LA. For this post I'll be sharing with you my favourite red carpet looks from the EE BAFTA's.

1. Anne-Marie Duff

Kicking off my top 15 (picking only 10 was just too hard) is Mrs McAvoy. These guys are the absolute cutest! Her whole look has a real mermaid feel to it with the almost shell like bodice, along with her untamed and plaited hair.

2. Sophie Hunter

The soon-to-be Mrs Cumberbatch kept things pure and simple in this black halter neck tent dress. I'm intrigued by what looks like a big bow detail at the back. I'm desperately hunting for a photo that shows a bit more of this. You'll be the first I share it with!

3. Gugu Mbatha-Raw

The colour of this gown is so pretty and really compliments Gugu's skin tone. The black and silver rope detailing and plain black clutch & nails finish this look perfectly.

4. Keira Knightley

I knew Keira wouldn't disappoint. She's toned down the frills by keeping it monochrome. I'm excited to see how she carries on styling her ever growing baby bump.

5. Felicity Jones

I've always been a fan of Felicity's elegant and classic style. The simple high neckline is timeless, but the little flower embellishments add a modern twist.

6. Lea Seydoux

This vibrant yellow is wonderful and quite rare for red carpet events. It's the perfect shade for Lea as it can be quite difficult for blonde's to wear yellow. I really love the cut of this dress too, with just a little flash of flesh.

7. Laura Haddock

Laura was the belle of the ball in this delicate number. She has finished this look nicely with an effortless updo. I think she looks like a Princess. This may just be my favourite outfit from the evening.

8. Laura Bailey

I adore how simple and refreshing this dress is. Laura has confirmed my love for high necklines. That gold star bag is so chic with the loop handle.

9. Liza Marshall

Liza looks so glam in this striped lacey dress. The satin lining and cutout neckline give it a slight 70's feel, which we all know is going to be big this Spring/Summer!

10. Angela Scanlon

There was a lot of black featured on this years red carpet. Angela's leaf embossed print and asymmetrical hemline give this solid colour some delicacy.

11. Tanya Burr

Tanya looks fab! The cut of this slightly Sixties inspired dress really suits her shape. She's added some sex appeal with the side slit.

12. Nimrat Kaur

I absolutely love the cut and style of this gown, I'm just not so sure on the Barbie pink colour. The cape like sleeves and low neckline are very unusual and the jewels give it some added glitz.

13. Romola Garai

I can see this look not being so popular in other peoples eyes, but for me, this is perfect! Romola looks so comfortable, but the clashing colours inject some fun. She really suits outfits inspired by the 1950s/60s and I have thoroughly enjoyed her wardrobe throughout both series of The Hour.

14. Edith Bowman

Everything about this dress is wonderful; the colour, the lace detail on the bust, the pockets!! There is no need for accessories when a dress like this can do all the talking.

15. Jenna Louise Coleman

The dainty print of this gown is so very Jenna, the flash of flesh, however is something we don't usually get to see. The slight drop of the waist makes the shape of this dress even more intriguing.

Man of the Evening - David Beckham

If there's one man that looks good in a suit it's our beloved Becks. Dawn O'Porter's tweet about how he looks as though 'he's been chiseled out of a pile of sex' sums up his look pretty perfectly...

Couple of the Evening - Eddie Redmayne & Hannah Bagshawe

This was a tough one as there were a lot of cute couples gracing the red carpet this evening, but it had to be Eddie and Hannah. She's wearing the most amazing lace dress (check out that collar!) and he's wearing a midnight blue velvet suit - be still my beating heart!! A match made in heaven. A massive congrats also to Mr Redmayne on bagging the Leading Actor award at tonight's ceremony!!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my favourites from tonight's event. These are my own personal picks, so some of you may not agree. I'd love to hear which looks you loved from the red carpet. Is there anyone you feel I have missed out?

Thanks for reading :)

Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet Favourite

Evening!

Awards season is upon us, starting with the Golden Globes. After spending the best part of 2 hours looking through all of the red carpet photos (and there was a hell of a lot!), I have picked my personal top 10 girls (in no particular order) and my man of the evening. Enjoy!

1. Zooey Deschanel

I love the contrast of the soft and neutral colours with the almost spiky texture. I'm a big fan of Zooey's wardrobe, both on screen and off, and she certainly hasn't disappointed.

2. Julie Bowen

I adore this colour combination, it probably shouldn't work, but it does! The puffed sleeves are super cute.

3. Dame Helen Mirren

Dame Helen looks like a green Goddess in this number. Such a gorgeous colour and it fits her so perfectly.

4. Allison Williams

We all know I love my stripes, so of course I was going to love this! The crossed shoulder straps make it that much more interesting.

5. Cate Blanchett

This is a beautifully classic look from Cate. I especially love her hair, oh so Hollywood.

6. Rebecca Ferguson

Apparently there's a saying 'blue and green should never be seen unless there's a colour inbetween'. I think Rebecca proves you shouldn't trust everything you hear. Wonderful shape!

7. Michelle Dockery

This is a beautifully elegant look from Michelle. The dipped hemline adds a modern touch.

8. Lena Dunham

This dress is big, the colour is bold and Lena is beautiful! She really stood out in a sea of black dresses. I absolutely love that she's not afraid to get noticed.

9. Joanna Newsom

This is such a fun look from Joanna. I really admire the over-the-top frills, but when you're dating Andy Samberg, you won't be boring!

10. Sally Hawkins

Sally looks so sweet and pretty in pink. Her look has a slight 60's feel to it which I LOVE!

Man of the Night - Alex Ebert

This may seem like an odd choice, but I do like my men a little different and Alex is anything but ordinary! He's wearing a wonderful waistcoat and just check out that Peter Pan collar! My Mother is probably slightly worried about the next boyfriend I bring home...

I hope you enjoyed my picks. These are just my own personal favourites, so obviously some of you will disagree. I'd love to know who your favourites were!

Oh Marilyn

Last week, I got invited to an exclusive preview evening of Marilyn Monroe photographs at Getty Images. The red code was glamorous. It gave me the chance to wear a new dress I had been given for Christmas from my Mum. My shoes are by Red or Dead from Schuh. They're surprisingly easy to walk in.

It was a lovely evening filled with free champagne, great music, rockabilly dancers and of course the beautiful and rare photographs of Marilyn. Here we are on the red carpet. Photo taken by Getty Images.

The Girl With The Style Transformation

Feel like altering your style for the new year? Or just fancy a change in your wardrobe? Look for inspiration no further than one of this years most talked about actresses - Rooney Mara. Over the past 3 years she has transformed herself from cute and girly to punky grunge to sophisticated glamour. Her status as an actress has also grown considerably over this period.

These photos were all taken from January 2009 to April 2010. Rooney has a certain sweetness, with her caramel brown hair and lace detailed dresses. These looks are all quite timeless and have a vintage feel to them. Then in August 2010, Miss Mara was cast to play Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and so the transformation began.

It's amazing what a hair cut and some black dye can do. It was a brave move by Rooney but she has made it work to her advantage. The grunge look is going to be a key trend during the transition from winter to spring.

H&M have already launched their collection created by the films costume designer, Trish Summerville. The pieces are made up of leather trousers and jackets, dark grey hooded cardigans, distressed dark denim and laced up army boots.
Rooney has been spotted at various events and premiere's for the film incorporating her characters dark style into her red carpet looks.

She appears to have gotten somewhat raunchier in her outfit choices with lower necklines, shorter hemlines and cut out backs. Her style also now includes a lot more black which was widely associated with her character, Lisbeth Salander.I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of Rooney in the next year so it will be interesting to see how her style progresses with the different roles she takes on. No doubt she'll feature more in my blog come awards season!!

Russell Brand - Oscars Style Steal.

Lets all just have a reminder of what Russell Brand wore to the Oscars last week and how he dressed up the check shirt.
I know some people aren't a fan of his look here, but I love it! This is definitely how I'd like my boyfriend to dress. For any guys out there who also love this look, or any girls who want to get their boyfriends in on the act, I've scowered the online shops for some similar items

I didn't manage to find his shirt with the black collar, but I did find this bright number for all the daring guys out there.

The Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards 2011 - My Fashion Picks!

Oh I do love awards season!! This blog update is all about the SAG awards which are held in LA. To be honest, I'm getting a little bit bored of all the neutral colours on the red carpets so I've tried to include some brighter numbers from tonight's ceremony. Here are my 7 best female picks and then a final award at the end for best dressed male. These are just based on my personal opinion. I would love to hear who you would have picked, just leave a comment at the bottom. Thanks for reading =]

1)Helena Bonham Carter
This is actually quite subdued for Helena compared to her latest red carpet dresses (how can we forget the odd shoes from The Golden Globes?). Black and white dresses are always nice as the colours are so opposite from each other that they make the whole look really stand out. This number is made from such pretty, delicate lacy material and Helena has accessorised her look perfectly with the black shoes and handbag, and white pearl necklace.

2)Claire Danes
Love this dress, especially with the thick black belt around the waist, it really breaks down the fully patterned dress. Claire has brightened up her look with red nails and cute pink lipstick. I also think she could recycle this dress by getting it made shorter and having some thin black straps added - would be a perfect little summer dress.

3) Julia Stiles
This is such a beautiful dress and I think it really works on Julia with her smokey eyes. We all know of my love for chiffon. Its just so easy to wear and can glide across a persons body and it works really well with the faded affect.

4) Mila Kunis
Mila is on fire in this hot gown! That colour is sizzling on her, especially with the darker/black details, really helps to combine her hair to the whole look. It can sometimes be hard to wear a red dress on a red carpet but because this dress isn't a block red colour, it really does work.

5) Lea Michele
Wow! Lea looks amazing and very grown up. The dress is so sparkly she's only had to accessorise with one bangle and the thin gold belt really shows off her tiny waist. The colour stands out against her slight tan making her glow even more.

6) Renee Bargh
Although this dress is a little plain, apart from the ruffled neckline and one shoulder, I can't stop looking at her gorgeous fishtail plait, and she has it on the opposite side to the shoulder strap, which is always rule number one with one shouldered dresses/tops. I think a belt could have livened up this dress a bit too.

7)Hailee Steinfeld
I am predicting big things for this young girl and not just on the big screen. I still can't believe she is only 14 years old! The style of this dress is very grown up but the bright, bold colours give it some youth. She hasn't needed any accessories or heavy make up as the dress does all the talking. I'm going to be keeping a close eye on Hailee. She always dresses older than she is but manages to keep her looks fresh. This was my favourite look of the night, love it!

Man of the night - Armie Hammer
Your probably all thinking what makes him so different from all the other black suits at the awards tonight. Just look at his smile -its contagious. I am very quickly becoming so much in love with this man. He just seems so happy in every photo I have seen of him. A smile can be an amazing accessory if you show it off!
