Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet Favourite

Evening!

Awards season is upon us, starting with the Golden Globes. After spending the best part of 2 hours looking through all of the red carpet photos (and there was a hell of a lot!), I have picked my personal top 10 girls (in no particular order) and my man of the evening. Enjoy!

1. Zooey Deschanel

I love the contrast of the soft and neutral colours with the almost spiky texture. I'm a big fan of Zooey's wardrobe, both on screen and off, and she certainly hasn't disappointed.

2. Julie Bowen

I adore this colour combination, it probably shouldn't work, but it does! The puffed sleeves are super cute.

3. Dame Helen Mirren

Dame Helen looks like a green Goddess in this number. Such a gorgeous colour and it fits her so perfectly.

4. Allison Williams

We all know I love my stripes, so of course I was going to love this! The crossed shoulder straps make it that much more interesting.

5. Cate Blanchett

This is a beautifully classic look from Cate. I especially love her hair, oh so Hollywood.

6. Rebecca Ferguson

Apparently there's a saying 'blue and green should never be seen unless there's a colour inbetween'. I think Rebecca proves you shouldn't trust everything you hear. Wonderful shape!

7. Michelle Dockery

This is a beautifully elegant look from Michelle. The dipped hemline adds a modern touch.

8. Lena Dunham

This dress is big, the colour is bold and Lena is beautiful! She really stood out in a sea of black dresses. I absolutely love that she's not afraid to get noticed.

9. Joanna Newsom

This is such a fun look from Joanna. I really admire the over-the-top frills, but when you're dating Andy Samberg, you won't be boring!

10. Sally Hawkins

Sally looks so sweet and pretty in pink. Her look has a slight 60's feel to it which I LOVE!

Man of the Night - Alex Ebert

This may seem like an odd choice, but I do like my men a little different and Alex is anything but ordinary! He's wearing a wonderful waistcoat and just check out that Peter Pan collar! My Mother is probably slightly worried about the next boyfriend I bring home...

I hope you enjoyed my picks. These are just my own personal favourites, so obviously some of you will disagree. I'd love to know who your favourites were!

Best dressed at the 2012 Golden Globes!

Awards season is finally upon us again and tonight it was The Golden Globes. Here are my favourite 10 dresses from the red carpet, plus my man and couple of the evening. These are just my own personal choices but I would love to hear who you would've chosen, so please feel free to leave a comment at the bottom.

Ariel Winter
I love the bold colour of this Dolce & Gabbana dress. It has a certain Grease prom feel to it and the black bow heels are cute too.

Claire Danes
Claire looks so elegant in this J.Mendel gown. It looks very Chanel-esque with the simple monochrome colours.

Zooey Deschanel
Absolutely love this Prada number. Zooey has finished the retro vibe with 60's style flicked hair and thick eyeliner.

Rooney Mara
Rooney is very much keeping to her dark style from the Dragon Tattoo promo tour she's recently been on. This Nina Ricci ensemble hangs beautifully from her skinny frame.

Angelina Jolie
Keeping it simple and glamorous in an Atelier Versace garment. It's Jolie's striking makeup which really appealed to me most.

Lea Michele
I love Lea's sultry front in this design by Marchesa. It's a very daring move for the Gleek and the emerald green ring brings a flash of colour to complete this outfit.

Helen Mirren
No one does seductive elegance quite like Dame Helen. The textured skirt adds some fun and I love the jewelled waist.

Emma Stone
Emma keeps in cool in some Lanvin. She gives it a rockier edge with the eagle belt and dark eyes. The dark berry colour really compliments her pale skin tone.

Evan Rachel Wood
This is such a dramatic look and Evan just oozes confidence in it. The colour is beautiful and who doesn't look feathers?

Madonna & Andrea Riseborough
So when I said I had picked 10 dresses, I lied, but Madonna and Andrea just look so great together, I couldn't help myself. I love how they're wearing opposites of each other. Madonna's Reem Acra dress is dark and structured with the square texture, whereas Andrea's is lighter in colour and material with delicate floral lace on the skirt of her Vivienne Westwood gown.

Man of the evening - Gerard Butler
Chosen purely on the basis he's wearing a three piece suit and Lord knows I love a man in a waistcoat. I love how he's kept the beard slightly scruffy to tone down his swanky red carpet look.

Couple of the evening - Harrison Ford & Calista Flockhart
Quite possibly one of my most favourite couples ever. Just the way he's looking at her makes me green with envy. Calista is so radiant standing next to Harrison.

2011 Golden Globes!

So its that time of the year again - The Golden Globes. The fashion this year is not too different from last years. Lots of neutral tones, chiffon and sparkle. Here's my pick of the 10 ten dresses and a special best male award at the end. These are all based on my personal opinion and are in no particular order. Please do feel free to share your favourites with me. Thanks for reading =]

1) Jayma Mays

This whole look is very 1920s inspired which I love. Everything from the dress, the Hollywood hair even the red lipstick. The beading detail is beautiful.

2) Sarah Hyland

Sarah looks so adorable in this dress. Theres a great balance between the elaborately decorated top and plain floaty skirt. Also, she hasn't ruined her look with too much jewellery, just the one necklace.

3)Amber Riley

Miss Riley is doing a fantastic job of showing how the more curvaceous women can look just as good as all the skinny Minnie's on the red carpet. The black belt around her waist helps to seperate her big boobs from her big waist. It can be hard to pull of a silver dress without looking like a chicken ready for the oven or a robot from the future but Amber oozes confidence in this outfit and so it really works.

4)Olivia Wilde

One of my favourite dresses from the night, it reminds me of a starry night sky. Olivia hasn't needed to wear any other jewellery, apart from a single ring, or have an elaborate hairstyle. Her dress alone, is enough to steal the lime light on the carpet.

5)Scarlett Johansson

Another slightly 1920s inspired dress but in a lighter colour than Jayma's. I especially love the hardly-there sleeves with little embellishments. The v-neck is also very flattering.

6)Leighton Meester

I practically love everything Leighton wears, whether its on Gossip Girl or to award ceremonies/celeb parties. The colours on this dress really mix well with her luscious brunette locks. Wearing a long dress with long sleeves can sometimes make you look like a nun but that slit on the skirt flashes just a bit of flesh.

7)Angelina Jolie

This one is going to cause me real pain, as anyone who knows me will know of my distaste for Angelina (I won't go into it as I'm not here to bitch) but I really love this dress. I think its the colour that most draws me in. The way its slightly tucked at the waste can give the illusion of curves.

8)Sandra Bullock

Its yet another neural coloured chiffon dress with embellishment, but I love this one just like the others. I love the pinned one shoulder, giving it a Greek feel and Sandy has balanced it well with a silver cuff bracelet on the opposite wrist. I am also loving Sandra's new blunt fringe; makes me miss mine but I will just get told off if I get mine cut back again - my friends don't like it on me for some reason.

9)Catherine Zeta Jones

My favourite dress from the whole night. Catherine pulls off the elegance of this dress with such beauty. I love the delicate pattern on the dress and the evergreen colour really stands out on the red carpet. Its just absolutely gorgeous, there are no other words.

10)Jennifer Lopez

The dress itself is quite plain and nothing too special but with the glittering cape, it really does jazz it up a bit. This look is so simple but effortlessly timeless. The white really glows against Jen's tanned skin tone.

Best Dress Male of the Evening: Justin Bieber

Although he didn't really look too happy to be there from the photo's I've seen, at least he has made a bit more effort than all the other male stars. He hasn't just gone for the shirt, tie and jacket, he's added a waistcoat and his suit seems to be a bit shinier than the other suits from the night. The fact that hes wearing trainers just makes it that bit more edgy and shows that hes not all grown up just yet.
