First Outfit of the Year!!

Happy New Year everyone! I celebrated by buying myself a snazzy new camera. It's the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Compact, which I ordered from Jessops over Christmas - a little present to myself. I am so in love with it and have decided to name it Ringo...

My friend Kev visited me this weekend, so we decided to test out Ringo with an outfit post. I let Kev loose in my wardrobes to pick out one item. It was then up to me to piece together the perfect outfit! The item he picked was my vintage navy army blazer which I bought from Rokit (you can see me wearing it in a different outfit here!).

I am very much a total beginner when it comes to cameras, so of course I had Ringo on the wrong setting for the outfit photos, so excuse the blurred lines - I'm still learning! I didn't want to not put these up on the blog as I'm really quite proud of putting this outfit together.

This total 60's flower power dress was purchased from Jones & Jones whilst on a recent visit to Spitalfields Market. They have a lovely little shop next to the market and have some fab sample sales. The round high neck didn't quite look right with the vintage blazer, so I've layered a pink chiffon shirt with a navy collar underneath. This was also a great idea as it gave me an extra layer in the freezing cold! You can't go wrong with a pair of Converse. It's what weekends were made for.

After mine and Kev's mini photoshoot in Stratford, I headed down South to Balham for lunch with my best blogging buddy Angelica from One Little Vice, and her lovely friend Tom.

We started off at M1lk for coffees and a delicious smoothie in a glass pint bottle - how cute! Tom expressed his want of pizza so we popped across the street to Franco Manca for some of the finest. You'll also notice it was at this point I changed the settings on my camera, so these next photos look slightly better...

After stuffing our faces, we felt we weren't quite full enough and made a final stop at the sweetest little French cafe called Des Lys, for hot chocolate, cake and more coffees. I loved the whole feel of this place with kitschy cushions, Parisian homemade jams and eccentric teapots from all over the World!

It was a lovely day in a different part of London. I can't wait to explore more South of the river!

I wish you all a fab New Year! Thank you for visiting for my first outfit post of 2015. Here's to many more :)

J'adore Dior

I'm back with a post jam packed with vintage gems! Me and my housemate Lee decided to have a vintage shopping day around East London. Here's what I wore.

Jacket // Matalan     Skirt // Beyond Retro     Top // Rokit     Boots // New Look
Rucksack // Accessorize

During my wee trip down to Brighton (here and here) I paid a visit to Beyond Retro. It was my first time in this particular store so I was excited to have a rummage and see what I might find! To my delight, I found this fab denim skirt. I'm a big fan of monochrome so I knew this piece would fit in nicely with the rest of my wardrobe. I love all the little details, like the beautiful buttons running down the sides.

My top is another vintage find, this time from Rokit. This too has cute little details; the different coloured sleeve cuffs and bejewelled 1 on the back. I really do J'adore Dior, especially when it looks this good!

Now, the weather that day was typically English for the middle of summer; bright but wet, so I was super happy I had the chance to wear my new hooded jacket from Matalan. It's lightweight so perfect for these warmer days and I love the stripey interior!

To keep from getting too wet in the rain, we popped into Beyond Retro just off Brick Lane, where we met Tiny the cat. What a pleasure she was. We stopped for some lunch in a sweet little cafe and ventured to Spitalfields, taking in the sights of the colourful graffiti and old posters on the walls. In Spitalfields we came across a shop selling the cutest dresses at sample sale prices.I very quickly fell in love with Jones & Jones and I ended up buying a new dress for my friends wedding, which I'll be showing you all very soon!

I've got a chockablock busy weekend coming up but hopefully I'll have some time to add some more items to my eBay so be sure to check it out.

Thanks for reading. Don't be shy, come say Hi! :)

The Louvre

Afternoon!

I'm back with the final day of our Paris trip. For day number 3 we left a love lock on the Pont des Arts and visited the Louvre. Again, the weather wasn't the best, but the grey clouds just made the photos ever more dramatic!

The part of the Louvre that most impressed me was the size of the rooms. They were absolutely massive and had such beautiful details to them.

Here's what I wore on our final day in the City of Love.

I thought I'd add a bit of colour to my new black and navy craze by popping a dash of red. The chiffon shirt underneath was one of the bargain items I got at the Music Circle's Rumble in the Jumble. I've paired it with my tartan skirt from Forever 21, cashmere Charlotte jumper by Gerard Darel and navy hi-top Converse.

Just as we left the Louvre, the skies turned really dark and there was a thunderstorm. This might be my favourite photo from our Paris trip.
It was so sad to have to say goodbye to Paris and to our wonderful host Thomas, but I'm sure we'll be back very soon.

Look what I spotted as we were about to board our Eurostar home - my name on the platform!!

Thanks for reading guys! Coming up next on the blog will be my family trip to Blackpool and Liverpool. For now, I'm off to see McBusted at Hyde Park!! Toodles :)
