Joy the Store Shopping Evening with Stylist Magazine

On Thursday evening I attended the Joy and Stylist Magazine shopping evening at their store in Soho. They had a few events happening around the country at some of their other stores. The evening consisted of a free glass of bubbly on arrival, cute cupcakes and mini packs of sweets, free manicures, plus 20% off instore AND a goody bag with any purchase.

Before all that though, here's what I wore!

My burgundy flower print dress was a sale purchase from Stradivarius (similar here). I probably could've done with a smaller size, but a cute little belt helped save the day! I really love the autumn colours, and don't get me started on that collar! After being inspired by Orla Kiely's A/W show at LFW, I decided to mix it up a bit with some grey wool tights. I carried on the grey theme with this men's wool speckled cardigan from Uniqlo. Just look at those Grandad buttons!

I wanted to balance out the darker colours so went with these adorable white brogues I picked up from the Matalan sale last year. A pop of white from the collar and shoes help bring this autumnal look into spring!

Now, back to the event...

I'd had a look at Joy's new items online, so I had an idea for what I was looking for. My best friend is getting married in Cyprus in May, so a pretty dress was the main thing I was looking for. This blue and white floral buttoned up collared dress just screams my name with its 1950's cut. It's the Louche Elisha dress and had been picked by Stylist as one of their favourites. I spotted it as soon as I entered the store, so quickly looked for my size and headed for the changing rooms. It fit perfectly, and with 20% off, who was I to say no! The wedding isn't until May, but I have a feeling this dress might make an appearance on my trip to Paris in 2 weeks time.

I was given a goody bag along with my purchase. It featured some yummy Vita Cocoa coconut water, an Upbeat oyster card holder plus 50p off a bottle of one of their protein drinks (looking forward to giving it a try!), some pretty bird earrings (unfortunately my ears are not pierced, so Happy Mother's Day to my Mum!), a set of Elegant Touch nails in a very stylish slate grey, and finally a £5 off voucher for my next purchase at Joy.

A big thank you to Joy and Stylist for putting on a lovely evening. It's wonderful having a shopping experience with a bit of a difference.

Thanks for reading!

Charming outfits both. I really like that marriage of grey tights + a burgundy dress. Silver and maroon where my elementary school colours and that instilled an appreciation of them in me early on. :)

Thank you very much for your lovely comment on my latest vintage outfit post. I really appreciate it and hope you're having a splendid week!

It's becoming quit a favourite colour combo of mine lately. My school colours were navy and white, maybe this explains why I've so much of those colours in my wardrobe...

Thanks so much for coming by to reply :) I really love your blog x

You're welcome Izzy, thanks so much for popping over :) Paris was so lovely! Be sure to try the food if you go up the Eiffel Tower. Another nice place we ate at was Café Republiqué. I can't wait to go back! x
