Emmy Awards 2014 Best Dressed

Morning folks!

I'm stuck in an airport for 3 hours, so what better time to present my favourite looks from last nights Emmy Awards!! There were a lot of fresh whites, vibrant reds and deep royal blue's to be seen last night. These are my personal favourites from the evening.

1. Natasha Lyonne

This Orange Is The New Black inmate scrubs up very well. The colour really compliments her hair and I love the flirty hemline.

2. Alicia Quarles

What really caught my eye with this dress is the checkerboard velvet detail on the skirt. It brings a great modern balance against the vintage lace.

3. Keltie Knight

Another lacey number, but check out the buttoned open back detail. This is both sophisticated and sassy!

4. Amanda Crew

This is incredibly elegant and Amanda has taken the attention away from the dress with over-the-top accessories. Her plain white nails and dark blue ring really complete this outfit.

5. Lena Dunham

I am always excited to see what Lena brings to these big red carpet events. I love that she takes risks and I'm really digging her new lighter do. She may not be conventional, but she's a hell of a lot of fun!

6. Mayim Bialik

This electric blue colour is absolutely gorgeous. I also adore the cut of this dress, very Grace Kelly.

7. Selenis Leyva

This frilly number is cute and classic. She reminds me very much of Dame Shirley with the short glam curls.

8. Julie Bowen

Such an eye catching print with a slight optical illusion; is she moving? Is she standing still? The deep V and halter neck detail gives it a 70's vibe.

9. Lena Headey

Lena was my Miss Rock Chick of the night in this black pinstriped number. I love the asymmetrical one shoulder and hemline. What's more, it shows off her punky tattoos perfectly!

10. Rose Leslie

Although Rose looks slightly washed out, this is still one of my favourite dresses from the night's event. The colour is beautiful and is styled wonderfully with the navy nails and dark lipstick.

11. Allison Williams

This has such a sixties feel with the big bow feature and the yellow sash adds just a dash of modernism; definitely something I would wear.

12. Michelle Dockery

Our very own Lady Mary brings some British glamour in this uniquely layered gown. Both the cut and colour combination are something quite different.

13. Cat Deeley

Another English rose in this enchanting faded dress which hangs beautifully from Cat's small frame. The colour suits her wonderfully.

14. Laverne Cox

Laverne looks like a Greek Goddess in this draped dress. A dazzling white garment to match that dazzling white smile.

15. Julia Roberts

My woman of the evening, and I think everyone else's too. Julia looks a dream in this bubbly layered dress. She styled it perfectly with matching shoes, and check out those legs!!

Men Of The Evening

1. Jim Parsons

Just for being the awesome man he is for having a photo with this ridiculous dog.

2. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

My Mr Grey, you know, if I had the choice...

Couple Of The Night - Adam Levine & Behati Prinsloo

Just look how adorably rock and roll they look together!

So there you have, my favourites from last nights event. Please be reminded that these are just my personal picks, so you may not agree and that is fine. I'd love to hear who your favourites were!

Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet Favourite

Evening!

Awards season is upon us, starting with the Golden Globes. After spending the best part of 2 hours looking through all of the red carpet photos (and there was a hell of a lot!), I have picked my personal top 10 girls (in no particular order) and my man of the evening. Enjoy!

1. Zooey Deschanel

I love the contrast of the soft and neutral colours with the almost spiky texture. I'm a big fan of Zooey's wardrobe, both on screen and off, and she certainly hasn't disappointed.

2. Julie Bowen

I adore this colour combination, it probably shouldn't work, but it does! The puffed sleeves are super cute.

3. Dame Helen Mirren

Dame Helen looks like a green Goddess in this number. Such a gorgeous colour and it fits her so perfectly.

4. Allison Williams

We all know I love my stripes, so of course I was going to love this! The crossed shoulder straps make it that much more interesting.

5. Cate Blanchett

This is a beautifully classic look from Cate. I especially love her hair, oh so Hollywood.

6. Rebecca Ferguson

Apparently there's a saying 'blue and green should never be seen unless there's a colour inbetween'. I think Rebecca proves you shouldn't trust everything you hear. Wonderful shape!

7. Michelle Dockery

This is a beautifully elegant look from Michelle. The dipped hemline adds a modern touch.

8. Lena Dunham

This dress is big, the colour is bold and Lena is beautiful! She really stood out in a sea of black dresses. I absolutely love that she's not afraid to get noticed.

9. Joanna Newsom

This is such a fun look from Joanna. I really admire the over-the-top frills, but when you're dating Andy Samberg, you won't be boring!

10. Sally Hawkins

Sally looks so sweet and pretty in pink. Her look has a slight 60's feel to it which I LOVE!

Man of the Night - Alex Ebert

This may seem like an odd choice, but I do like my men a little different and Alex is anything but ordinary! He's wearing a wonderful waistcoat and just check out that Peter Pan collar! My Mother is probably slightly worried about the next boyfriend I bring home...

I hope you enjoyed my picks. These are just my own personal favourites, so obviously some of you will disagree. I'd love to know who your favourites were!

Playing In The Autumn Leaves

Hi guys!!

Here's another outfit post from another 7am photoshoot with KevKev!

Can you tell I love Autumn? This was a very fun look as I gave Kev a task to pick out an item of clothing for me to wear for the day. It was then up to me to create the rest of my outfit from his chosen item.

Kev's choice was my quite bright purple shirt from H&M. I bought it from their sale last year for just £5. I decided to carry on with the bright colours and paired it with these aquagreen skinny jeans from Monsoon. I love their jeans as they're slightly more high waisted than other places and are super comfy. I've thrown on my really light but warm jumper from Uniqlo's men's section, because, let's face it, a gentleman's jumper always feels nicer. My sweet little pearl bow brooch was a gift from my best friend Jess.

My wonderful sailor styled pea coat was a birthday gift from my lovely Nan 2 years ago. I'm sure she'll be happy to see that I still wear and cherish it :) The black patent loafers are originally by Matalan but I got them on eBay for a bargain price of 99p, brand new too!

My snake ring can be found here and the kitty ears ring here. The gold and black ring in the middle was a Christmas present from my Parents.

This was fun! Although I did get hit in the face with the leaves, I don't have a great aim...

A here's Kev looking his usual happy self  <3 p="">

We're off to the theatre tomorrow night to see the new West End play Mojo. It's got a fantastic cast made up of Rupert Grint (hello Ron Weasley!), Colin Morgan (Merlin anyone?!), Brendan Coyle (good evening Mr Bates), Daniel Mays (amazing!) and Ben Whishaw (enough said...). I am literally so excited. We're going to try our luck at meeting some of the cast afterwards, so watch this space!!

Don't forget you can like my Facebook page here! I know I keep saying it, but I promise there will be an exclusive giveaway coming veeerrryyy soon!

Thanks for reading :)

Tuxarees

Just a quick one tonight! If you happen to be following me over on Twitter, then you'll have heard me mention some early morning photo shoots with my dear friend Kev. Here's the results of the first one!

http://lookbook.nu/look/widget/5538535-New-Look-Tuxedo-Style-Dungarees-Necessary-Clothing After spotting Lucy of Shiny Thoughts in her dungarees, it reminded me that I had a pair that I'd bought months ago hiding in somewhere in my wardrobe! Mine are originally from New Look, but ASOS have a fab range in all sorts of varieties. I decided to just go with the tuxedo style of mine and wore a white chiffon shirt underneath. This shirt is super cool as it has a little black ribbon to tie as a bow, and I love the black collar and cuffs.

My snazzy shoes are from Necessary Clothing. Every time I wear them, I feel like I should be tap dancing down the streets of London.

My cute little bow bag is also from New Look but I bought it through ASOS.

We took these photo's at around 7:30 in the morning! It's getting so difficult to take decent outfit photos as it's so dark by the time I finish work. I think Kev quite enjoyed being my photographer, so much so that we did another one the following morning, so come back for more tomorrow!!

Goodnight for now :)

Tracks

Ahoy!

I'm back with an outfit post which is a bit more glamorous than usual. This weekend is my brother's 20th birthday. For his present this year, I took him to see a film at the BFI London Film Festival in Leicester Square. He's a big film fanatic so I knew he'd be happy to see any of the bills on this years bill. I chose to take him to see Tracks, a film based on a book of the true story of Robyn Davidson who trekked across the Australian deserts with the help of 4 camels she trained to carry her belongings. It stars Mia Wasikowska and Girls odd hunk, Adam Driver. It's a very inspiring movie. Anyway, here's what I wore for the red carpet event (I took so long getting ready, we sort of missed out on the red carpet part).

I was very excited to get the chance to wear this lacey number. I bought this maxi dress in New Look's sale for just £15! I thought it only right to pair it with some pearls. The pearled belt actually came with another dress and the pearl necklace belonged to my Great Grandma. My shoes were quite glitzy too! I got them in the ASOS sale.

My cute kitty ring is from Wholesaleitonline.com and was just $2.06! The pearl clip is my Mum's (Thanks!)

After the film, I took a wee walk to Waterloo and met a friend for a drink. There's a new vintage train style bar that has opened up just around the corner from where he lives. We were given some 'train tickets' to exchange at the bar for a free beer/glass of wine. The bar had a really cool look to it. The couches looked like luxurious train seats and there were screens showing passing landscapes so it looked like windows. It was called Carriage 34.

I've had fun using my new camera, though I'm still trying to figure out how to use it properly.

I have also been given the chance to trial out an item of clothing from Oasap. Once it has arrived, all shall be revealed...
