Dorothy Perkins AW 11 Collection

Dorothy Perkins have released pictures of their new collection set to hit their stores for Autumn/Winter. Ever since clasping eyes on this collection I have been lusting over their Monochrome shifts and colour blocking pieces. Here's a few of my favourites that I will most definitely be saving up for.
This top is a very good replica of the tops we saw back at the start of this year from Chanel's Paris Fashion Week runway show for their Spring/Summer collections. It's an easy cut to wear with a pretty, sparkly pattern.

The reason I'm most looking forward to winter arriving is to dig out my lovely thick coat! This furry number is great if you fancy yourself as a Cruella Deville but with a heart. It is certain to warm your frozen bones during those chilly nights.

Love, love, LOVE the colour of this blazer. This is positive to brighten up those dark, cold nights and leave a mark at the Christmas party.

Now I couldn't pick my favourite dress so here's them all. Firstly the skater dresses.

Such simple, easy to wear design. Pair with colourful tights and thick block heels.

Now we're going back to the 60s with these Wiggle dresses - Think Mad Men's Joan.

It's time to embrace your curves. Just because winter is approaching, doesn't mean we can't still be sexy. Perfect for the office and a cheeky night out.

Don't forget, if you've recently seen a celebrity wearing an outfit you'd love to recreate, just email me a photo to x_pirateslife4me_x@hotmail.com and I'd be happy to help =]

Will be back thursday afternoon!!

Sorry for lack of posts recently. Been busy at Uni and with NME Awards. FINALLY met Dave Grohl - My Hero! So for now I'll leave you with this
Alexa Chung wearing Christopher Kane to the 2011 NME Awards tonight in London. This dress would set you back around £1,000, but I have managed to find these 3 cosmic print dresses which are very similar to Alexa's and very much cheaper, from Topshop which range from £32-45. Also, topshop.com are offering free postage on all orders until 25th Feb, so you have 2 days to get buying!!

I shall be back, hopefully, late afternoon/evening with a new post =]

Daks - London Fashion Week

The first runway show of day 2 of LFW was Daks. Their stuff looks like proper winter clothes with comfy jumpers and country checks. Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the collection.
I can't work out whether this is a navy satin dress or a separate top with skirt layered with a jumper - either way, I love it! The little gold band around the waist helps to prevent this look from being to frumpy and plain.
Another skirt, shirt and jumper combo here. This skirt slightly longer than the last and very much thicker. The jumper has a wider neck so when teamed with the buttoned up checked shirt, it has a mod feel to it. Again, the tight waistband makes it more fitting but this time the jumper has been tucked into the skirt.
The delicate patterning on this jumper helps add a feminine touch when combined with the slightly masculine buttoned up shirt. Also the slightly flared checked trousers are very farmers wife in the 70s.

Overall, this collection looks comfortable and easy to wear and would definitely keep you warm through the winter nights. A great start to day 2!!

Dior caught my eye

So I was just looking through some photos from Paris Fashion Week. Christian Dior's show has definitely caught my eye so I thought I'd share a few of my favourite pieces. Their very 50s inspired and I am loving the hair do's - must try some out myself!

Yellow can sometimes be a harder colour to wear but it does work best on brunettes. This dress is what I imagine Belle from Beauty & The Beast would wear if she went to the Prom in Grease.

I adore the blend between the light blue and beige and the tiered skirt is really fetching. The cowl neck offers that modern touch.

The make-up and hair are very rockabilly. She reminds me of a Quality Street chocolate the way the dress twist wraps itself around her waist. Simply Divine!

I like the feathery detail on one side and then the dark dramatic colour on the other. Loving the statement red lips and head piece.

The only thing I don't like about this dress is the tucked bit at the front. I do, however love the draped back and the colours are gorgeous. Just check out her make-up!

This dress is a little different as its not big and puffy like the others, but the detailing is exquisite. The dress doesn't just feature a bow, it is a bow. The colour is beautiful against the models pale tone and the length and fit are definitely made for us taller females of the world

I am pretty sure this was the big finale of the show - you don't get much bigger than that. Completely breathtaking!
