I'm going back in time for today's post, to summer last year with an outfit I wore to a friends wedding. My friend Jenni (who was getting married) and I had been introduced to the idea of wearing navy and black together by our friend Luke. So I thought I'd give this colour combination a go for a summer wedding, not the most traditional, but I think it works. Low and behold Luke was rocking the look too, so we were well matched.
See, it does work for a summer wedding! This beaut of a skirt I got in the
Matalan sale. The fit is perfect for me and it makes me feel oh-so grown up. I've paired it with a navy silk
H&M shirt which I got from a clothing swap. This blouse has a great loose shape and is easy to dress up (like above) or can be dressed down over a pair of white jeans and navy Converse (this'll happen soon, once I buy a pair of white jeans!)
I bought these heels (
similar here) from
Forever 21 especially for the wedding, and I haven't worn them since. I'm more of a flats kinda girl. Keep an eye on
my eBay as they'll be making an appearance soon! After finding the perfect pair of shoes for the special occasion, I then couldn't decide whether I wanted to wear some cute little socks with them too. With the
help of Instagram, my dilemma was answered and so I went bare legged.
So there you have it! I'm sure plenty of you have some upcoming summer wedding invites, so hopefully this post will have inspired you to try something a little different, or maybe you wanted something a
little bit more vintage?
Thanks for reading!!
Love this look!
